At Calvin Presbyterian Church, we believe that faith comes alive through caring for others. Our Mission and Outreach ministries reflect our commitment to sharing God’s love in meaningful and practical ways, both within our church family and throughout the wider community.
Through initiatives such as our Breakfast Program, and the Calvin Food Cupboard, we help provide food and essential supplies to neighbours facing challenging circumstances. As a founding member of the Halifax West Ecumenical Food Bank, we also continue to support efforts to address food insecurity in our community.
Whether through donations, volunteering, prayer, or a simple act of kindness, every contribution makes a difference. Together, we strive to be the hands and feet of Christ, building a community where everyone feels supported, valued, and loved.

Kid’s Breakfast Program
Breakfast Program
We support over 20 families (40+ children) each week through our breakfast initiative.
Needed weekly:
– Cereal, granola bars, oats
– Puddings, snack packs, arrowroot cookies
– Canned fruit (applesauce, mandarins, peaches, pears, fruit cocktail)
– Pancake mix (just-add-water)
– 1L juices
To donate with your offering, mark “Mission and Outreach Breakfast Program.”

Calvin Food Cupboard
Celebrating its 5th Anniversary (Sept 2026), the Food Cupboard continues to see growing use!
Needed items:
Canned meats (tuna, chicken, ham, Spam)
Paper towels, toilet paper
Soap, toothpaste, dish soap
Kraft Dinner, canned soup/veggies
Pet food
Drop off items in the Green Tote in the Narthex, or contact office@calvinhalifax.ca about how you wish to contribute!

Ecumenical Food Bank
Calvin Presbyterian Church has been a founding member of the Halifax West Ecumenical Food Bank, and we continue to answer our call to serve our community through continued contributions!
Non-perishable food donations can be placed in the cart inside the church doors, and;
Monetary donations:
Cash or cheques: payable to “Calvin Presbyterian Church” and clearly marked “Food Bank” may be given with weekly offering.
