Worship beyond Boxing Day???
The Session met together online on Wed. Dec. 22, and in light of recently tightened COVID-19 restrictions it has decided to cancel in-person worship services up to, and including, at Jan. 16.
For the Sundays of Jan 2, 9, & 16 we will be trying something new for us. Each Sunday a small team of worship leaders (minister, music director, singer, special readers, and tech people) will be going into the church to conduct a service of worship. There will be no in-person congregation present. However, you will be invited to join us online each Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. on our congregation’s Facebook page where you will be able to watch the service as it happens. Please watch for a link to our congregation’s Facebook page in next week’s announcements! (***Please note: the final recording of the service will remain online for people to watch later, and a recorded copy will continue to be made available on our church’s website for late Sunday afternoon)
The Session will meet again on Jan. 17 to review the situation and any possible changes regarding government restrictions and will update the congregation following that meeting.
What to do about OFFERINGS???
Offering envelopes can be put through the church’s mail slot at the front door, and will be checked daily. Wayne will then be in to pick up and deposit money at the church each Sunday around noon. ***Please note that Jan. 2 is the final day to be credited for the 2021 tax year. E-transfers and PAR are helpful!
ANNUAL REPORTS DUE!
Just a reminder to our various Ministry Team convenors that your annual reports for 2021 are due into the office by no later than Sun. Jan. 16. This allows time for the compiling, and distribution of the Congregational 2021 Annual Report in time for our Annual Congregational Meeting which is currently scheduled for Sat. Feb. 12.
2022 Offering Envelopes:
For those who participate in the envelope program, you can pick up your 2022 envelopes from the church. Please be sure to call ahead to ensure someone is at the office to assist you!
2022 Church Calendars are now available!:
The Presbyterian Church in Canada’s new 2022 church calendars are now available. Calendars cost $5, and are available on the table outside the sanctuary (money may be placed in the basket on the table) If you’re coming in to the church to pick one up please be sure to call ahead to ensure someone is at the office to assist you!
Nursery Volunteers Needed:
We are currently looking for people willing to volunteer to help provide occasional nursery care during Sunday morning worship services for children under the age of 5yrs. Although we do not have small children with us every Sunday this is, nonetheless, an important ministry to them and their families when they do come. Our national church’s Leading With Care Policy encourages there to be 2 volunteers present when providing nursery care. And so, if this is something you might prayerfully feel led to help with, please speak with Murdena Dupont, or Chelsey Joudrie at 902-301-1867 or email@example.com.
